is one of the thirteen Parbans in the twelve months of Bengali. This Paush Parvan festival has created a lot of excitement for ages especiallly in rural Tripura. It is Said that this Paush Sankranti festival is one of the bearers and carries of Bengali culture.

In this Paush Sankranti, the tradition of old woman's house has come from ancient times.

  However , with the evolution of time, this traditional culture is gradually disappearing due to the touch of mordernity. However in some places, this old woman can still be seen in different parts of Udaipur sub-division.Even today,people from eight to eighty-one parts of this old woman clebrate Paush Sankranti in front of this old woman's house. 

 From some time ago, the smoke of building houses by collecting bamboos was observed. And on the night before Culture,the traditional practice of lighting fire in the house of the old woman in the evening after feasting has been cherished for long time. 

Among the few townships in Udaipur area where this custom is still prevalent is Tepania Under R.k pur assembly constituency, Tepania Debnath para area and various surrounding rural areas and some people hilly townships areas where some people are still seen enjoying this old lady's house.

One hope of all is that no matter how much we retain the morden culture. no matter how much we move forward in the path of modernity,the tradition of celebrating Makar Sankranti with the traditional village house will continue to be cherished with the times.
